Haitian FlagSwing for Haiti: Update
posted January 28, 2010

On Tuesday January 19th, EDW hosted the Haitian Relief Dance, featuring music from Swing Shift, a 19 piece big band. Thanks to Chris Bannon and the other council members who pulled this event off in a matter of days. Thanks as well to the amazing band which donated it's time and talent.

The event was attended by well over 100 people and garnerd $3,800 — 100% of which is earmarked for earthquake relief. Our Council officers, on behalf of the membership also donated an additional $500 to our chaplain's Missionhurst Missionaries which has a presence in Haiti. Great job EDW for demonstrating the first principle of Knighthod — Charity.

For more about this event, visit today's Arlington Connection article, Knights Dance for Haiti; In five days, from idea to fund-raiser.

Additional donations can be made via the Knights of Columbus online by visiting our United in Charity page.

The Chair’s Award was established to provide public recognition to a member organization and its Chamber representatives that have made an exceptional contribution to the Chamber through sponsorship, leadership, attendance at events, and other contributions of resources. It is only presented to one business in the Chamber. We would like to thank all those here at the Columbus Club, staff and volunteers, that work hard to make this business successful and very special.
