I just wanted to thank you for hosting a great party a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time and I think everything went smoothly. As my HUSBAND(!) said a second ago, if we had it to do over again, we would definitely do it at Knights of Columbus.

My husband, Kevin and I were married on May 23rd, 2009 in Arlington, VA. I must say choosing the Knights of Columbus to host our reception was the smartest move we made when planning our wedding! We chose the Knights of Columbus for our reception site for many reasons.
First, were the excellent rates that the Knights of Columbus offered to rent their Great Hall. We looked at many places around Arlington and none offered a lower price, food included! In addition, my husband Kevin is a member of the Knights providing us an additional discount on renting the facility.
Secondly, we were very impressed with the beauty of the facility itself. The grounds were lush and flowering and the Council Home made a beautiful backdrop for our photos. The inside of the Council Home (rented at an additional cost for two hours), with its marble floors, winding staircase, and den with fireplace offered many classy settings for bridal party pictures. It was an added bonus that while our pictures were being taken, our wedding guests could relax with a cocktail hour, all on the grounds of the Knights of Columbus facility. This allowed our out of town guests a place to commune between the ceremony and the reception so that they did not have to return to their hotel rooms for hours before the reception.
Jesse Corning, the events planner at the Knights, made planning the meals, decoration, and timeline easy! He is very accomplished at this and was willing to sit down with us at anytime to discuss details. The Knights offer several packages for meals (per head) which include linens, plates, wine and water glasses , champagne toasts, and setting up the room to your specifications. High top tables were available for the bar area and they had everything needed to accommodate our D.J. and plenty of space for a dance floor. Jesse even made catalogs available to choose special color-coordinated overlays and sashes for the chairs (some of which was included in our package at no additional cost to us). Jesse even took the time to be at our reception to make sure that all went well!
The food was great! Everyone raved about how good it was. The package we picked (the gold package) included two meal choices, sides, salads & bread and even an appetizer for the cocktail hour. Again, Jesse made it very easy to pick what we could have to eat. He said the chef could prepare just about anything we wanted if we wanted something other than what was offered in the package we chose. You can also have a buffet if desired, even though it is a little more expensive. We went with a London broil and chicken marsala for our two meal choices. Jesse even went out of his way to offer us pasta primavera for our vegetarian guests (some of the children preferred this as well). Alcohol can be purchased and served in a variety of ways -all cost-efficient (even an open bar option is available). They also offered coffee, tea, and sodas.
The service during the reception was remarkable. My husband and I were treated like a King and Queen. The Red Coats did a wonderful job making sure everything was served to our guests in a timely manner and with great care.
Everything went so smoothly.
I suggest the Knights to all the brides that come into my office (I am the Parish Secretary at St. Ann Catholic Church). Finally and most importantly, a special thank you to Jesse Corning for helping make our wedding day the best day of our life!

I just want to congratulate you and your staff for delivering another wonderfully catered event for our family this past week. This was the 4th major family event that has been staged so successfully at our wonderful Club.
My father-in-law passed away several years ago out in Arizona, leaving many family members and friends, here on the East Coast (where he had spent most of his life as an active member of the Potomac Jazz Club) unable to mourn his passing out West. So our family staged an East Coast Wake/Celebration of his life in the Council House where some of the best jazz musicians in the area jammed for hours one evening while enjoying a wonderfully catered event.
The next event was my 60th Birthday Party…which I threw for myself…also in the Council House…to celebrate my passage into young adulthood.
Then there was our daughter’s wedding in the Ballroom, with a 16-piece swing band, and we entertained over 200 family and friends…with a wonderfully prepared gourmet dinner, and danced the afternoon away (very reminiscent of New Years Eve at the Knights…which we never miss).
And finally, this past week…after laying my 90 year old father to rest at Arlington National Cemetery…we were able to greet our family and friends at another catered event in that same Mansion that has served all of us so well.
So just a heads up to my fellow Knights…whenever you have a special family event or just need to entertain a party that is just too large to fit in your house… you have one of the best venues in town right here at your finger tips. I know, because I am in the hotel business, and there is just no way that any hotel in this town (even the lesser ones) can compete with the pricing and value that is available to all of us due to our wonder facilities here at the Club… and our amazing group of volunteers the magnificent "Red Coats".
The Calgaro family is grateful to all of you who make this one of the best Clubs anywhere.

What an amazing wedding reception! SO many thanks to you for making it all so EASY! Seriously… we LOVE the facility… so much, in fact, we’ve been trying to figure out how we can join (at least) the pool!

This site is beautiful, we used the grounds in front of the house for our ceremony and with no decorations at all (except the house in the background) it looked great. The Staff was very easy to work with and was willing to help me with whatever I needed. They do not do the decorating (we had to do it ourselves) but having not to worry about cleaning up at the end of the night made up for it. This is a great site for anyone on a tight budget, we had around 65 guests, we ordered tablecloths, we had the house and the lower lounge all day, catering, & beverages all came under $4,000. On our wedding day the made it easy for me not to worry about anything, anything that arose was taken care of. This is a great place and I WILL recommend it to anyone looking for a venue.

Many of our guests commented on the food and that it tasted very good. We got great food at a great bargain. The hall is not stuffy, and was perfect for a wedding with 25 children as guests. Very comfortable feel to the place. Not as elegant and sophisticated as other halls, but there's a lot that can be done to dress it up if you like. The staff is great to work with, very flexible, and the menu really can be anything that you like. The famous Redcoats do a great job serving, and there is plenty of parking. The bathrooms and bar area aren't the fanciest, but folks are there to see you, not have swanky counters and mirrors. Taking pictures on the lawn in front of the historic home was one of my favorite parts of the day. Just my new hubby, the photographer and I enjoying a quiet walk on the grass, while all my loved ones waited inside. We should have beautiful pictures of those fifteen minutes.
Best value in town! Good location, pretty easy to find for out of town guests, too.

The quality of service for the price paid was outstanding. Keep in mind that we looked at venues that were over twice as expensive and at the same time not as beautiful as the KOC Hall. The catering was fine, again for the price paid. There were zero complaints. Honestly, we went into this with our expectations set accordingly. The final consensus is that the KOC exceeded our expectations.

The Knights of Columbus was an incredible site. A very large venue with beautiful grounds and an historic mansion that we used for our wedding photos. The Event Director is friendly and was always available to answer questions. She even walked us through the entire day to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. The food was incredible! And the waitstaff (Red Coats) were wonderful.
