Knights of Columbus Edward Douglas White Council 2473
Charting the Future
The Capital Campaign for EDW Council

Current Situation
EDW has deferred capital repairs and improvements for a number of years. This is the result of our depending on a dues structure of $100 per year -- an amount that is inadequate to maintain the facility and to provide resources to carry out the charitable purpose of the Knights of Columbuse.

Our New Mission: Charting the Future
The capital campain for EDW is our opportuity to help restore and preserve the Council Home, build on our Council's unique strengths, and reach new levels of charitable and community service. Our goal is to provide the funding for necessary capital repairs and general operating expenses, including charitable activities, by raising $300,000 in on year and $1,000,000 over five years.

Our Great Council is About Fraternity
Ours is an increasingly rare setting inside the Beltway. The hub of EDW's fraternal life is our amazing Council Home. The Charting the Future campaign will help pay for desperately needed basic repairs and upkeep that have long been ignored.

Our Great Council is About Family
The picturesque setting on top of Reserve Hill has been the backyard and summer playground for many of our families. Charting the Future will help pay for basic repairs and upkeep that have long been ignored and are urgently needed.

Our Great Council is About Charity
Our outreach, community service, and charitable giving should match our Council's uniqueness in size and blessings. Charting the Future will help us reach these levels of excellence by relieving some of our pressing financial burdens.

An Annual Challenge
In order to meet day-to-day expenses and expand our charitable outreach, we ask that Council members and friends seriously consider making an annual contribution in addition to the $100 membership dues. These donations will immediately assist with the ongoing operations of the facility. Recognizing the diversity of our memgbership, four categories of contributions have been established.

$100 Friends of the Council
$200 Sponsors of the Council
$300 Patrons of the Council
$500 President's Club

Contributors will be recognized each year in published lists within the Knightlife and other appropriate communications.

A Pledge for the Future
Our facility on these beautiful grounds has deteriorated to a point where strong action needs to be taken. In this phase of Charting the Future, we are asking for contributions to maintain and improve the facilities we have always enjoyed -- the picnic grounds, swimming pools, playground, tennis court, Council Home, and main activities building.

We are establising a capital campaign fund where contributions can be made or pledges can be spread over a number of years. While all donations are welcome, we are asking many of you to consider joining one of the groups below.

$1,000 EDW Silver Club
$2,500 EDW Gold Club
$5,000 EDW Platinum Club
$10,000 EDW Lifetime Benefactor Club

A plaque recognizing the different levels of participation will be prominently displayed in the Council Home. For those who join the Lifetime Benefactor Club, an individual plaque and picture will be displayed in a prominent place.
