Thanksgiving Day Dinner for the Needy
Donations and Help Needed

Over the past 21 years at EDW we have served over 14,000 Thanksgiving Day Charity meals to the poor, needy, elderly, and home-alone. At our first Thanksgiving event, we served 25 turkeys. We're now up to 75; some donated and many purchased by our Council. The total cost of this charitable event continues to increase as the popularity -- and community need -- grows. Last Thanksgiving we served over 1300 meals and the cost of the meals was in the thousands of dollars.

Well, believe it or not, Thanksgiving 2006 will soon be here, and since we expect an even greater demand and overall cost for the meals, we need your support again. You can help with your money, your time, or your turkey. Money: your donations, of any size, directly support this wonderful event. Time: we need volunteers for cooks, kitchen help, drivers, waiters/waitresses, and cleanup. Turkeys: cooked and delivered if possible. It's the ovens of our members and friends that make such an undertaking even possible.
