Beloved Edward Douglass White member and Allentown PA native Jim Savarese died in February 2009 from pancreatic cancer. He served the Council in many capacities including as Council Advocate, heading up the EDW Capital Campaign, and as a charter member of the 4:30 Club.
The Jim Savarese Memorial Golf Tournament is held each year with money raised going towards pancreatic cancer research. Approximately 70 golfers particpated in 2011 at South Riding Golf Club . The tournament format makes it fun and competive for golfers of all abilities and a few special holes, including a hole-in-one $10,000 prize, keep things interesting. Keep an eye on the Knight Life each summer for information about this event.
